My story

Why did I choose to start Palette Natura?

After many years of searching to find the right position in terms of career, I am finally in my element. Today I see my story as a success, and that is why I am very keen to tell it.

We are all at different places in life, and we go through life and careers in different ways. Many follow a set path when it comes to education and jobs, but there are also many of us who have difficulty finding the right path. Have you found your path? Here is my...

To find out why I am here today, where I have started Palette Natura, I feel it is important to rewind time.

When I was 18 years old, I was in a car accident where I got whiplash. The accident itself wasn't bad, but I hit my head very hard, and as a result I got some nasty injuries. The whiplash changed everything about my youth and the education I was going to attend. The accident happened in my last year of business school and as an 18 year old, I wasn't strong enough at the time to ignore the pain and signals my body was sending me, and I therefore spent many years finding myself and figuring out my body with pain.

As planned, I started my education, where I was supposed to study marketing, but after six months I had to admit that it was not possible. I had difficulty concentrating and a lot of pain in my neck, and I therefore had no opportunity to complete the education. I suddenly had to spend a lot of energy figuring out what my future would bring.

From that time until today, many years have passed with doubts about jobs and what to do when I couldn't finish my education. From the age of 18 to the age of 23, I definitely had some confusing years. Little was known about whiplash back then, and so I went from treatment to treatment, without feeling any improvement.

It has taken an incredible number of years to find who I am today, but I wouldn't have been without that journey, because then I wouldn't have been me.

When I was 23 years old, I met my husband Henrik, and a few years later we both moved into a house and are expecting our first daughter.

Since I wasn't in education or working a full-time job, I could focus on creating a family with Henrik, which we both dreamed of. I'm sure it was also really good for me to focus on something other than just myself and my pain.

Our first daughter was born in 2012, and our second daughter was born in 2015. For a number of years I was a full-time mother, and I enjoyed spending all that time with our daughters. When our youngest daughter was about three years old, and also started to become more independent, I started to have more energy to think about my wishes and dreams.

I have always been creative and very visual. I have painted paintings and drawn both clothes and houses (just for fun and because I loved it), and therefore I also knew that I should work within a creative field. And here my love for styling, interior design and the visual was in focus.

I started my education as an Interior Design Consultant, and I got a job for a few hours as a stylist and social media manager, and here I had the opportunity to feel what my body could handle in terms of pain. Over the years, I have suffered a lot from migraine attacks, neck pain, and I have had difficulty managing training and physical activity. It was therefore a bit of a challenge to start a job. There have been many ups and downs along the way, and I have had a really hard time finding my way in terms of career.

Today I can feel and see that a lot of it is about the mental side. Today I am in a completely different place. I was on painkillers for many years, but I don't do that anymore, and in addition I have worked incredibly hard on myself both mentally and physically. I was lucky enough to have a course with a coach a few years ago, and it really opened up new ways of thinking, and I also learned that it was important to prioritize myself.

Why is my pain mostly gone today?

I think about that sometimes, and I'm not 100% sure. The whiplash itself is long gone, but the chronic pain persisted for many years. But as time has passed, and as I've learned to relax into it, I feel really good. I've spent a long time working on my breathing, my mindset, and focusing on the fact that physical activity is good and that I can easily exercise.

Now I have created Palette Natura, and it definitely feels like the right journey. Through Palette Natura I can be creative, and I have the opportunity to communicate and inspire within interior design, lifestyle and creativity.

The idea behind Palette Natura was created from my experiences over the years. No matter what I have tried in terms of work and education, the constant point of contact for me has been nature. Throughout my many years with neck pain, I have taken countless walks in nature. Both by the water, across the fields and in the forest, and it has given me an indescribable peace and a respite, where I have really managed to breathe deeply and feel a presence, and just be at one with nature.

Palette Natura is a combination of my passion for the visual and the creative. It is the place where I can express myself visually, and where I have the opportunity to share my creative ideas and advice - all where nature is brought in as part of it all.

For many years I have dreamed of designing and physically holding a product in my hands that I have designed and had produced. It is therefore with great pride that I stand with my own designs of bowls and vases, which I also sell on this site. And they are of course produced with nature's own materials.
